Life feels
different now than it did a week ago, an hour ago, a season ago. I think there’s a lot of hope in that.
Only hang around people that are positive and make you feel good. Anybody who...

“People start calling you secretive and mysterious. They mistake your sadness for complexity. You aren’t very complex at all, really: just cautious and unconfident and lonely. But people make up their own stories.”

How To Not Be Sad #7:
Stop looking in the mirror.
Try to think about something different for once.

“Well maybe you should just drink a lot less coffee, And never ever watch the ten o’clock news, Maybe you should kiss someone nice, Or lick a rock, Or both.” “Maybe you should cut your own hair ‘Cause that can be so funny It doesn’t cost any money And it always grows back Hair grows even after you’re dead” “And people are just people,...
Never grow up.
Sitting with a pretty girl on a pretty bench in a pretty place kissing lips on her pretty face
I keep converting any sadness to anger but I don’t think it’s helping

How To Not Be Sad #6:
Find your value in yourself. Relationships can be uplifting or heartbreaking, but they never define your worth. The only person you can control is you (with enough willpower).
My life is headed towards something great and I’m finally just starting to barely get a grasp on what that is.
No one understands you.
That’s not true. No one can ever understand you completely. Even you don’t, really. We’re all different for a reason. But everyone can understand at least some part of you. It’s the shared parts that connect us. You’re not alone. You were never alone.
Hold on. The more people you get close to, the more books you read, music you listen to,...
Do things. Keep doing things. Don’t stop doing things until you need to sleep. Then slowly wake up and do more things.
Don’t waste time doing things you hate. Don’t waste energy hating the things you’re doing.
Trinkets.
It’s really easy to be sad, I think.

Play board games with some really cool people.
Think about something nice someone told you.

Do you trust? You’ve always gotten through it before. This too, shall pass. Breathe in, breathe out. You are not alone. You were never alone.
Spend time around people that make you feel good about yourself. This seems simple, but some friends are traps.
Go somewhere that makes you forget the world, until you don’t want to anymore. There’s dozens of beautiful and/or exciting places around you no matter where you are, if you’re willing to explore.

Either you do it or you don’t. Either it happens or it doesn’t. Stress is a waste of energy and emotion. The consequences are never something you can’t overcome.
every time I resign myself to this kind of notion, the thing just automatically doesn’t happen
I think I might need stress in order to get anything done ever
Stress prevents me from getting work...

Compliment someone on something other than their physical appearance or clothes.
moonsafaris asked: talk to someone. i know that can seem like the last thing that you want to do, but push yourself to do it, as in the end it's truly worth it. particularly seeing a counsellor was good because it was sort of like a clean slate (if that makes sense). this person had no prior knowledge of me or my life, so i didn't feel like having to censor myself to protect my reputation. talking with...
Kiss something cute on the nose.
Go to the pet store and look at animals.
Reach out and connect with infinity
You're not alone. You were never alone.
internetcoolguy asked: you are not a burden. let me say that again. YOU ARE NOT A BURDEN. TO ANYONE. you think that you should be able to pull yourself out of this. you don't want to bother people with your problems. maybe you don't feel worthy of their attention. you're wrong. you DO NOT, and SHOULD NOT have to endure this agony alone. whether it's sending a friend a text message or seeking...
Nostalgia is good. It refreshes the mind and brings a new happiness to the moment.
Being stuck in the past is bad. Don’t try to relive what’s already happened. Don’t yearn for a lost time that, usually, wasn’t as good as you remember it. You won’t recapture that feeling. Find a new feeling. Change courses through life. Move with it, or you’re fighting the...
How To Not Be Sad #5:
Hope, forever. Never for a second forget that things will get better.
How To Not Be Sad #4.5:
Watch every episode of Boy Meets World.
When you’re sad, you feel as though that will last forever. You can’t even imagine what it’s like to be happy, you can’t remember, and you can’t see yourself ever getting back to that again. You reach for it but are blocked at every thrust, it’s like trying to grab a wall. And you want to sleep forever.
When you’re sick, you feel as though it will last...
Everyone who says they have no hope makes it through, in the end. They’re okay. And if they’re not, it’s too late, what did being hopeless gain them? Would hope have saved them? It has before.
If you have hope, you can control your life. Maybe your expectations aren’t meant. You keep going, you try again. The only ultimate end is death. And the fact that everyone dies is...
Avoid people that have no Shadow.
How To Not Be Sad #4:
Listen to music that makes you feel better. Or makes you feel worse and worse until you feel better. That’s called catharsis. It comes from the ancient Greeks or something.
Do your homework.

Make other people happy. Expect nothing else in return. Want nothing in return. Do it for them, because they’re human, so they need it. Not for you.

HAHAHAHA. how not to be sad: forget you exist and exist for other people.
That’s not what I’m saying at all.

diacrit asked: wah this is a really sweet blog
After my very first break-up ever, with a girl who was my best friend, then pressured me into the relationship, then dumped me over the phone, I went upstairs and hugged my parents. And for some reason, the first thing I managed to croak out, my voice cracking as it slipped through the tears, was, “It hurts more than anything in the world….. and I just… really don’t want to...
Loving people, forgiving people, is never easy. You’ll fail hundreds of thousands of times. Don’t give up.
Don’t give up.
You’ll get there.
Amendments:
1. People don’t have to apologize, before you can forgive them.
2. You have to forgive yourself, too.
How To Not Be Sad #2:
Love everyone. Even people you hate.
